Suriya And Hari Worked With New Project

The duo combo Suriya and Hari has already succeeded with flying colors after the hat trick success of Aaru, Vel and recent release Singam. The recent buzzes are that they will be back together again for another commercial entertainer. According to the sources it has been revealed that Hari will direct Suriya and the film will go on floors by mid-of-2011.

Hari is now busy shooting for his next film Vengai that has Dhanush and Thamanna in lead roles with Raj Kiran performing a prominent character. Devi Sri Prasad scores music for the film with cinematographer Vetri joining hands with Hari for the first time.

It seems that Suriya after completing A.R. Murugadoss’ Ezham Arivu with Shruthi Haasan will start shooting for his next film to be directed by K.V. Anand. They had earlier worked together for the blockbuster movie Ayan. This untitled film will be a big-budget flick to be produced by Kalpathy S Agoram under the banner name of AGS Entertainments. By the time, both Hari and Suriya complete their respective project, it will be July 2011 and then it will be the right moment for the duo to start their project. The details about the producers and crewmembers are yet to be confirmed.

Surya Ready to Work RGV Next Film

Barely a week after the debacle of “Rakht Charitra”, the indefatigable Ram Gopal Varma has decided to properly launch southern star Suriya with a more conventional romantic, action drama and the actor says he won’t mind teaming up with the director again.Apparently the people behind “Rakht Charitra 2″ felt Suriya didn’t give the film the promotional pitch it required either in Mumbai or in Chennai and as a result it has bombed both in Hindi and Tamil.

But Suriya defends himself saying: “Over here (in Tamil cinema) we don’t really go all-out to promote and market our films the way they do in Bollywood. You could say our marketing is more subtle. I don’t go out and sell any of my films to the audience.” “However, for ‘Rakht Charitra’, I did make an effort to do more publicity than I usually do. RGV and I flew to Madurai to meet the audience and fans – this is something I haven’t done before.”

Suriya says “Rakht Charitra 2″ was never meant for the masses. The film is a 2 part biobic based on the life of slain factionist and Andhra Pradesh poltical leader Paritala Ravindra. “‘Rakht Charitra’ was never meant to be a film for all tastes. Its intense violent theme was always a deterrent to a mass audience. Even my most violent films have a family base in the plot or there’s a love story behind the violence. In ‘Rakht Charitra’ there was no digression from the intense theme….all in all, no regrets. I’d love to do another film with RGV.” Suriya is recovering from the back injury that was one of the reasons that prevented him from being in Mumbai during the promotion of the Hindi version of “Rakht Charitra 2″. “The doctors have asked me to take it easy. So we’re shooting scenes. We’ll shoot the action in the climax after a month.”

Raktha Charitra Movie Postponed December 3

Suriya
Suriya’s eagerly awaited Ram Gopal Varma starrer with Vivek Oberoi, Rakha Charithra in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi has been postponed from November 26 to December 3, as the film is yet to be censored. The Tamil version is being distributed by Cloud Nine.

Actually RGV and Cinergy Production the producers of the film had slated its release on November 19, but postponed it due to various factors. But Cloud Nine was very particular that the film’s Tamil version should release on November 26, so that it gets a free run for atleast two weeks.

Now that RC has been postponed to December 3, it will have to adjust with other big December releases like Arya’s Chikku Bukku on Dec 3, Dhanush’s Aadukalam on Dec 10, and Kamal Haasan’s Manmadhan Ambu on Dec 17.

Chinese song in ‘7am Arivu’

Suriya starrer ‘7am Arivu’, the multi-crore trilingual directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin on Red Giant Movies banner, is being shaped up in a brisk way.

The latest buzz about the film is that it would have a Chinese song, which is expected to be one of the highlights. “Music composer Harris Jayaraj has attempted something new in this number,” sources say.

Throwing more light, they say: “Harris will use sounds dating back to more than 2,000 years for this particular song. And what more? To give more authenticity, it will be sung by a popular Chinese singer.”

Shruthi Haasan plays the female lead in ‘7am Arivu’, which is said to be a different attempt in Indian cinema. “The film will be a totally new experience to movie-goers,” sources in the know maintain.

Surya is cool even if the Shruthi comes late for the shooting

Sruthi Hassan, Surya
Ezham Arivu is a film which has Surya and Shruthi Haasan in the lead roles. This film is being directed by A R Murugadoss. The heroine has a meatier role than the usual heroines.

Because of this she will be with Surya throughout the film. Now Murugadoss feels that he can complete the film without any complications if he is able to trim her portions. Why Murugadoss has taken such a decision.

It is because of Shruthi’s punctuality. The cast and crew who come in time had to wait for Shruthi Haasan’s arrival. Normally the leading actors do not wait for the heroines. Even if at all they wait for one or two times, they will simply walk away because of their ego saying that they can be called after the arrival of the heroine. But in Shruthi’s matter, Surya is very patient because she is the daughter of Kamal Haasan

LGF has bought Manmadhan Ambu and 7aam Arivu dubbing rights

Raktha Charithram on November 19?

Soon as Suriya announced that they are planning to release the film for Diwali, it was a joyful restrain for his fans. But again, it was a confusing call as Dayanidhi Azhagiri is vigorously promoting the film ‘Va Quarter Cutting’ as Diwali release. Two films under the same banner released on the same occasion are often not recommended for.

Likely, the release date of Rattha Charithram is likely to get postponed during second or third week of November. According to the sources, there is a sort of gentleman’s agreement that the Tamil version should be released along with second part of Hindi and Telugu.

As known earlier, Telugu and Hindi RC will be released in two parts while Tamil version with a single part release. Factually, Vivek Oberoi and Ram Gopal Varma have huge fans following them in Hindi regions while the film based on Parithala Ravi has urged Telugu cohorts to watch it by all means. But as with accordance to Tamil audiences, the film is to be marketed purely for ‘Suriya’ factor.

The first parts will not have much importance of Suriya as the complete film is about the growth and rise of Parithala Ravi from a gangster to a politician while the second part is about Maddelacheruvu Suri’s combat with Ravi.

Surya says that Raktha Charithram is not meant for children

After roaring in Singam, Surya is taking lot of efforts in the two major projects Ezham Arivu and Raktha Charithra.

When asked him that what is so special in his villainous hero role in the film Raktha Charithram, he said,” Raktha Charithram is definitely not a film to be seen with children. It has been a long time that a film like that has been made.

This film is meant for those who desire to see a pucca action film in a different dimension. Ram Gopal Varma says that this film required his 27 years experience. It is a real experience for me to work in such kind of film.

It is only 10 hours ride in car from my house to the place that this incident has taken place. It is really shaky to think that this incident has taken place there. This film is autobiographic film. Ram Gopal Varma has done a lot of research.

Suriya in Manmadhan Ambu

K S Ravi Kumar directed Manmadhan Ambu is nearing completion, we hear. The film has Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, Trisha and Sangeetha in the main roles. The latest news about this film is that MA will have Suriya making a cameo appearance.

It is worth mentioning here that MA is produced by Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies with whom Suriya gave smash hit – Aadhavan. Interestingly, Aadhavan was directed by KS Ravi Kumar.

Will Suriya replace Ajith?

Surya and Ajith
Now that Ajith and Gautham Vasudev Menon have parted ways  from doing a film together, it is said that the filmmaker would now make the movie with his favourite actor Suriya as the protagonist.

“Gautham likes to work with Suriya very much and he feels that the actor would suit to any kind of role. Hence his next choice for the project, which is a thriller, would obviously be Suriya”, say sources.

Tentatively titled ‘Thuppariyum Anand’, the film is set in pre-Independence era. “It is about a detective who zeroes in on culprits involved in sensitive cases in his own style”, sources in the know maintain.

One more interesting buzz about the project is that Gautham Menon has signed British Model Amy Jackson, who played the lead role in ‘Madrasapattinam’, for the heroine role. “His favourite cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is busy doing research for the film”, sources add.

Vijay-Suriya Dayanidhi Maaran Together?

Loyola College of Chennai holds special mention for having generated some of the most prominent personalities  of Tamil film industry and politics. To be precise, the leading actors and filmmakers of Kollywood including Vijay, Suriya, Vikram, Vishal, Jeyam Ravi, directors SJ Surya, Vishnuvardhan and many other technicians, Dayanidhi Maaran, Udhayanidhi Stalin, NDTV Hindu editor Sanjay Pinto, Hindu editor N Ram and many others including recent arrival from CM Karunanidhi’s grandson Arulnidhi and many others on the rise have graduated from Loyola College.

Being one of the highly rated 5 Star Colleges of India, Loyola College celebrates the Alumni Association and this year has invited the bigwigs.

It’s expected that Suriya and Vijay are also taking part as the correspondents have invited them personally.

Union Minister P. Chidambaram, Dayanidhi Maaran and others have already confirmed about their presence for this special occasion.

Rattha Charitram – the Most Violent Film

The countdown has already taken its places amongst the Suriya fans, not alone in Tamil Nadu, but across Bollywood and Telugu film industry as well. In fact, the film’s release being postponed to a month later as deliberately disappointed them. But all they say is ‘the wait will be worth it’.

With the first part of Raktha Charithra scheduled to hit screens on September 17, the second part featuring Suriya in the main lead will be released only after 3-4weeks.

Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma has opted for the viral marketing mode to publicize his movie. Recently he had mentioned that Rattha Charitram will be ever most violent film. But behind every violent act, there lies the deepest of human emotions.

Suriya Another for Hindi project

It seems Bollywood is coming closer to Suriya even as he is distancing himself from the country’s numero uno film industry.

Only recently, the actor, who is making his Hindu debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Raktha Charithra’, clarified that south Indian cinema is close to his heart and his focus would always be on south and not Bollywood.

“I am not looking at making a full-fledged career in Bollywood. And I am not shifting my base to Mumbai. I have never pushed myself for Hindi cinema. If I get to do different roles that excite me then I will surely love to do Hindi movies. But I will not stop doing films down south,” he said.

Meanwhile, the latest news in the trade is that ‘7 am Arivu’, the actor’s forthcoming film directed by A R Murugadoss, will be made in Hindi as well. Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin wants to release the movie in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, sources say.

Interestingly, making trilinguals is becoming a trend in Kollywood of late, at least for ‘big films’. Two other similar projects which are currently in the pipeline are Suriya’s own ‘Raktha Charithra’ and Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Endhiran’.

Rakta Charitra in its final leg of Shooting!

Although all the big movies like Robot, Komaram Puli and Khaleja are hitting in few weeks, Ram  Gopal Varma is coming up with his faction film, Rakta Charitra in September. He finished the entire shooting part of the film to be released in two parts for the first time in India. Ram Gopal Varma says this is very important film in his career and also a film that he enjoyed filming it the most.

RGV said: “Never in my career I felt such an exhilaration and a strange sense of a mixture of both a release and a relief through any film I have done so far in my career. It’s not so much for the film but for the fact that I traveled all this time with each of all the various characters of Rakta Charitra and their emotions and now I feel that with the last shot I have reached them to their destinations or atleast to their destinations as conceived and perceived by me.

More than the audience I am actually dying to see, know and feel the reactions of the real people from whom its characters are inspired from. I feel this attempt of mine will be hugely worth while if they even think, feel, realize, and learn a little something from Rakta Charitra about themselves and more importantly about their adversaries.”

Best South Indian Oscar – Kamal Haasan Vs Prakash Raj Vs Suriya?

The toughest competition was on before a month and the fans across various states have voted their favorite actors and technicians.

The category for ‘Best Actor’ is the most knotty thing to decide as the nominees have surpassed with on their respective arenas. Say for instance, Kamal Haasan broke the clichés of his yesteryear images and came up with a challenging role in ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’. Suriya established him in extremely action-packed role with ‘Ayan’ and for Jeyam Ravi, ‘Peranmai’ was an exceptional showpiece.

Prakash Raj has already won National award for his best performance in ‘Kanchivaram’ while Aarya’s overpowering performance in ‘Naan Kadavul’ was far beyond brilliance.

Keep logging to this column and we’ll bring you the latest updates of the 57th Filmfare awards all set to kick-start this evening.

Suriya to stun with stunts

Suriya, who is playing a circus artiste in his upcoming ‘7am Arivu’, is planning something different to promote the film, we learn. “He will perform some daring stunts during a promotional event of the movie,” sources say.

“For the past six months and more, he has been learning acrobatics and other circus stunts from an expert. As a result, the actor has learnt some aerial tricks and doing it during the shoot of the film without the help of a double,” maintain sources.

Saying that the training sessions Suriya underwent and the making of the film were captured on a camera, they add that these things will be screened to the audience before the release of the movie, which is directed by A R Murugadoss.

Besides, Suriya will also perform some hair-raising stunts on his own in front of a large number of the audience, probably at the audio launch function. All these things will make the film produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin bigger in all terms.

Superstars' Big Tickets From September

The first season of 2010 might not have been so promising for the film buffs, but you can expect a heavy downpour of big tickets from Superstars for the next half yearly period.

Enthiran: Rajnikanth’s magnum opus ‘Enthiran’ was supposedly reported to hit screens on September 3. Though it was an unconfirmed buzz, Sun Pictures COO Hansraj Saxena reafirms about releasing the film by first or second week of September. The film’s musical mania has exceeded everyone’s expectations and for the next coming days, it’s gonna be ‘Endhiran’ alone.

Manmadhan Ambu: Kamal Haasan’s yet another comedy entertainer with K.S. Ravikumar. The duo’s combination in ‘Avvai Shanmughi’, ‘Thenali’, ‘Pancha Thanthiram’ and ‘Dasavatharam’ have revealed of great success. The additional goldrush in film’s veins will be the presence of Madhavan and Trisha. The film is scheduled for Diwali as Udhayanidhi Stalin plans to do so.

Kaval Kadhal: Beginning of Vijay’s new era. Is it worth ennobling Ilayathalapathy’s next release ‘Kaval Kadhal’ with such terms? A right one indeed! Neither gushing punch dialogues nor the timeworn ingredients of his yesteryear films will be prevalent here. So, what you have got to expect is all about fun, romance and emotions. Kaval Kadhal is also being planned to get released for Diwali.

Rattha Charithram: Suriya’s first multilingual film has a big way for him. Ever heard about a welcome before an arrival? Precisely, Suriya owns this fortune as even the celebrities of Hindi and Telugu film industry have become his ardent fans after watching the teasers. The film’s release has been postponed to October now.

Utthamaputhiran: Family entertainers have always found a right place in box office. On the button, Dhanush-Genelia D’ Souza starrer ‘Utthamaputhiran’ will be a sure-footed family entertainer as the Telugu version ‘Ready’ has been a successful forerunner. With star-casts’ number running to monstrous figures, the film is expected to have right mix of comedy, romance, family and more elements.

With so many films slated for the releases, the exhibitors and distributors are so confident that the next season will yield them best results.
