Jerry Lewis and Tony Bennett Have Words for Lindsay

Jerry Lewis is at it again, issuing more stinging jabs at not-so-nice laaaady, Lindsay Lohan, at a Friars Club event in NYC on Wednesday. Lewis called  Lohan, in rehab for the second time in two months, a "fresh, dumb broad" who "needs a spanking on her ass to get her to put herself where she belongs!"

Just last month, Lewis told a befuddled reporter that he'd "smack [Lindsay] in the mouth if I saw her" and "be arrested for abusing a woman." He then said that if she wasn't satisfied, he'd "put her over my knee and spank her and then put her in rehab and that's it."

But Lewis, 84, isn't the only member of the old guard to chime in on Lohan this week. Iconic crooner Tony Bennett told a reporter at a charity event that Lohan and similarly troubled artists who use drugs are "sinning against their talents."

Less bombastic and showing more diplomacy than Lewis, Bennett, 85, continued: "Everybody has a gift, and these young stars should learn how to celebrate life, feel good about living, and do what they love. It will turn them around, and they won't end up doing something that will kill them."

Lohan entered a rehab facility in Southern California this week just days after a judge briefly detained her for failing court-mandated drug tests. She's expected to stay there until her next court date on Oct. 22 where she could be sentenced to another 30 days in jail.

The last time Lewis thwacked Lohan was shortly after her first stay in rehab. He aired a harsh tone when discussing young celebrities who don't give "anything in return" for their fame.

"I think they need a f*****g spanking! And a reprimand!" he said. "It has nothing to do with [money and fame], it has to do that they have the intelligence of a box of rocks. A bag of snails will give you better answers than those people. I think a great deal of it is ignorance and crying for something other than love."
